Imran Khan Actor, Director, Storyteller, completed his post
graduation in Urdu from the University of Delhi in the year
2002.
In a career spanning over 14 years, he has been very active as a
children's theatre director and resource person in various schools,
Department of Education, University of Delhi and theatre groups
within and outside Delhi.
As actor he has acted in number of productions within and
outside India. Some of His most successful productions are Raja ki
Khoj, Laghu Mahabharat, Portrait of Dora, A Player of Chess,
Bhasmasur, Dragon Boy. Apart from acting Imran is also directing
Plays specially designed for young audiences. Bhasmasur was his
maiden full flagged production which he also directed apart from
acting in it.
In 2010 Imran went to Hongkong to participate in CTAA conference
and discussed the situation of children's Theatre in India. Imran
Also conducted a workshop with theatre practitioners from Hong kong
on "Improvising a play based on Folk Tales".
In 2008 Imran was artist-in-residency in South Korea where he
was working with professionals of children's Theatre from South
Korea, Japan, Taiwan and Vietnam.
He conducted a Storytelling workshop based on Indian folk tales
in, Bucharest ,ROMANIA in 2006 and on MAHABARAT TALES in
2007.
He worked on and represented his theatre group for an
international project for Asian Youth Art, Malaysia scheduled in
December 2005 at Kaulalumpur, Malaysia, The theme for which was
'Space'. Under this project Imran's work with the children had been
supported by a company of international repute - Xansa. The project
consisted of a workshop-oriented play for the children of
Government High school, Harola, Noida.
Imran's participated in the International Children's Theatre
Festival organized by DALA in South Korea in the year 2004. While
representing his theatre group there Imran performed a play called
"Kisse" and also conducted a workshop.
At Present Imran is heading his company I-Entertainment and also
the Secretary general of Assitej India.
