    This unique event: · showcases over 24 youth arts organisations and programs across QLD in presentations and performances · Offers over 20 professional development workshops and learning opportunities by regarded industry leaders · Presents a platform for two industry specific forums · Provides organised networking opportunities QYAM is a state-wide project, encompassing the majority of all multi-art form practices, and is free to attend. QYAM is an exciting new initiative in Queensland, which is part of a national plan by YPAA to coordinate this type of activity across the country, in partnership with major venues. All international ASSITEJ friends are welcome to attend! It is a rare opportunity to see such a broad spectrum of children and young people’s work in the arts and cultural industries, and to participate in exciting and inspiring discussions specifically relevant to Youth Arts. The event is based on the work done by YPAA and NSW members in 2008 called the Youth Engagement Showcase (YES), which has since been developed by YPAA and the QLD Youth Arts sector. Planning Safer Projects, professional development forum Young People and the Arts Australia will hold a professional development forum next month in Canberra which is extremely important to the industry: Planning Safer Projects. This forum will discuss the philosophical, physical and technological risks associated with engaging children and young people in the arts. A wide array of the sector are expected to be represented at this forum; from governments to peak bodies, educators, companies, festivals and creative individuals.
